Scottish Community and Householder Renewables Initiative (SCHRI)

SCHRI is provided by the Scottish Government and managed jointly by the Energy Saving Trust and Highlands and Islands Enterprise. The household stream offers grants of 30% of the eligible costs to owner/occupiers installing renewable technologies in their home, whether it’s an existing home or a new-build, up to a maximum of £4000. Grants are available for installation of: solar water heating, thermal space heating, small scale wind and hydro systems, ground source heat pumps and biomass technologies. Low Carbon Buildings Programme Phase One

Administered by BERR - Householder grants are also currently available under this UK-wide scheme – although in general at a lower level than from SCHRI . However it’s worth noting that this scheme also funds solar photo-voltaic technology which is not covered by SCHRI. Maximum of £2,000 per kW of installed capacity, subject to an overall maximum of £2,500 or 50% of the relevant eligible costs, whichever is the lower
